Stone Presbyterian Church launched a Scripture by Heart group on Palm Sunday, 2008 with an epic telling of stories from the Gospel of Luke. This telling was the fruit of two workshops led by Stone's pastor, the Rev. Dennis Dewey.
In his workshops Dennis taught his process for internalizing the stories and living with them "in the heart" during Lent. Dennis had performed the Gospel of Mark for the congregation earlier in the year which inspired the special Lenten observance and Palm Sunday telling.
Stone Presbyterian Church has since formed the "Stone Storytellers" which has met and told scriptures in worship regularly. They are now producing videos for distribution on YouTube to reach a broader audience. Check out the one below of Psalm 133.
