Contando las Buenas Nuevas en la Cuaresma 2021
Late December 2020 I decided to ramp up my efforts to acquire Spanish as a second language. Two years ago I learned a couple of stories well enough to tell on our Network of Biblical Storytellers biblical storytelling trip to Guatemala. While learning the stories seriously challenged my brain at its early stage of acquiring Spanish, I found out later how valuable it was to that effort, and also greatly enjoyed the actual telling to people who do not speak English. So in January I began to look closer to home for a similar opportunity.
Before I knew it I had agreed to plan a weekly Lenten Bible study for a Hispanic ministry at a local United Methodist Church here in Dayton…
More later, time to prepare for this evening’s Maundy Thursday service at Grace UMC Dayton. Several of us in Grace by Heart are telling John 14-15. I get to start us off with a verse that is now a dear friend:
“Do not let yourselves be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.”
What could be simpler and more direct than that?!
Tell the Story,
Amelia
