Redemption Sunday Features Biblical Storytelling by Restored Citizens

Two restored citizens helped tell the story of Jesus raising Lazarus in John 11 for Redemption Sunday at Grace UMC, Dayton on May 30, 2021. David Larson and Amelia Boomershine of GoTell were the other two tellers. You can watch the telling, followed by a video on reentry and powerful preaching from restored citizen James “Battle Tested” Clay: click here

Only two months until the Festival Gathering!!!

If you love the Bible, storytelling, worship, learning, laughter, spiritual inspiration, interesting people, then register for the annual Festival Gathering of the Network of Biblical Storytellers International. It will be virtual again this year, which means it’s easy and affordable no matter where you live. Tom and I will both be there–we hope you will be also! Here’s a link for details and registration...

Back to Mark…

If you follow the lectionary, after delving into John for many of the Sundays in Easter, we are now back to the Gospel for the year, Mark. Here is a telling and casual commentary on the story for June 6 which we called “Who Is Your Family.” Mark 3:20-35 is one of those sandwich stories Mark tells. With a focus on the story inside the story, another good name for it would be “Binding the Strong Man.” Visit the story page for more on this story.

Monday with Jesus

We do our best to produce a telling with commentary like this one on Mark 3: 20-35 every week. We follow (usually) the upcoming Gospel “text” of the Revised Common Lectionary. We send out a link and a few words about the story in an email. If you would like to be on that list, let us know with a message to Amelia.
