The season of Lent is here. Many of the Gospel stories for those following the Revised Common Lectionary come from the Gospel of John, including the story of Jesus’ nighttime meeting with Nicodemus (John 3:1-21). Actually, the Lectionary starts at verse one, but we think you need to hear the whole story for the latter half to make sense. Here is our “Monday with Jesus” on this important story:
Monday with Jesus
Each Monday we email a message with resources for the upcoming Sunday Gospel story as designated by the Revised Common Lectionary, including a link to a YouTube video of the story being told, followed by commentary. If you want to be on the elist to receive “Monday with Jesus” emails, send me a message: amelia@gotell.org. Our YouTube channel is GoTellStory.
Telling the Passion of Jesus According to Mark
In Lent of 2014 a group of men at Chillicothe Correctional Institution in Ohio performed a mini-epic telling of Mark 14-15 as the grand finale of an 8-week course we taught in which they learned all the stories from the passion of Jesus according to Mark. Ten years later we have dusted off the “script” (Mark 14-15 with a few verses left out, New Revised Standard Version) for telling on Good Friday by member of Grace by Heart at Grace UMC, Dayton. Here is a PDF of the script in chart form to facilitate scheduling tellers.
