Wisdom Seekers: The Power of Storytelling
In a society inundated with both endless information and countless solutions, wisdom is a possession more valuable than gold. Persons from all walks of life are looking for common sense and common ground approaches to relate to one another to push humanity forward in a more hopeful direction. One way to do this is through the power of storytelling.
In this six-week seminar we are accessing the wisdom inherent in identifying, evaluating, and choosing which of our personal and the stories surrounding our lives we want to own for our lives going forward and tell to others. We are learning in practical and tangible ways how our stories are inextricably tied up into a larger cosmic story from the biblical tradition, and how special each of us is as a result.
The class meets on Tuesdays, Sept 17-Oct. 22, 9:30-11:30 followed by lunch, at McKinley United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio. It is sponsored by the John Moore Center in partnership with the University of Dayton. The class is being taught by Rev. Dr. Amelia Boomershine.
